Ideas and Abilities is a small, general construction company piloted by owner/operator Kinsey Jarvis. Concentrating in custom timber work, specializing in  home remodels and frequently taking on custom requests, the experience Kinsey brings to a job is extensive. His attention to detail, hard work ethic, and commitment to quality make Ideas and Abilities a solid choice for your next project. 

Our Story

Kinsey started Ideas and Abilities in 2009. Having worked for builders in the past, he knew that it was work he enjoyed, and wanted to take a swing at starting his own business - giving him the freedom to be as creative as he chose, and to create something from nothing. As the ultimate hands-on guy, its often stated that "if anyone can do it, Kinsey can". 

Over the years, Kinsey has developed lasting, highly successful relationships with other local tradesman; plumbers, electricians, drywall carpenters, engineers, and architects. Together, they provide quality work that customers are quick to recommend, and frequent to refer. 

As a general contractor,it is Kinsey's mission to provide quality craftsmanship, honest work, and creative solutions. The strengths of the local tradesmen that he partners with, along with his experience and integrity provide a value experience for his clients in addition to the expert craftsmanship that he delivers. Guinness and Kona are frequent co-pilots with  Kinsey on errand days, and are quite the experienced shop dogs. Kinsey's wife Tessa has recently joined the team providing office support, cold beers and the occasional web design.
